STAGE 03 OF 04 · DIGITAL PRINT PREPARATION

Prepare the approved model for your printer.

The approved CAD geometry is converted into a printable STL, checked as a mesh and, where included, prepared in PreForm for the intended printer and resin.

What happens

We validate the STL, check mesh integrity and consider orientation and support contact areas. If PreForm preparation is included, we create the digital build setup for the agreed Formlabs printer and material. 2333D Build does not supply the physical print.

What we need from you

  • Approved CAD geometry and final dimensions
  • Selected printer and resin, where already known
  • Printer or production-partner requirements
  • Protected surface-detail areas and preferred orientation
  • Required outputs: STL only or STL plus PreForm preparation

Technical checks

  • Watertight mesh, normals and surface integrity
  • Minimum printable features and fragile details
  • Orientation and support access
  • Support contact placement and likely surface marks
  • File scale, units and export tolerance

Approval point

You approve the final dimensions and, where supplied, the proposed orientation and digital support strategy. Actual print and casting results depend on the equipment, material, operator settings and downstream manufacturing process.

Possible deliverables

Depending on scope: print-ready STL, PreForm build file and digital preparation notes identifying the printer, resin and assumptions used.

Only digital files are supplied. Physical printing, post-processing, casting, stone setting and finishing are completed by your chosen production partner.
