STAGE 01 OF 04 · DESIGN BRIEF AND PLANNING

Define the product before modelling begins.

We translate the initial idea into an agreed design and production brief. This reduces avoidable revisions and gives the CAD stage clear technical boundaries.

What happens

We review the intended appearance, proportions, use, stone arrangement, material and manufacturing route. References are converted into specific decisions instead of being treated as instructions to copy another design.

What we need from you

  • Sketches, photographs or reference designs
  • Finished dimensions or ring size
  • Gemstone shapes, exact measurements and quantities
  • Preferred metal or manufacturing material
  • Target quantity, variants and production method

Technical checks

  • Proportions, comfort and wearability
  • Stone layout and setting access
  • Likely metal sections and assembly requirements
  • Conflicting references or missing dimensions
  • Features that may affect printing, casting or finishing

Approval point

You approve the written design brief, agreed reference direction, key dimensions, project scope and revision allowance. This is approval to begin CAD development; it is not production-file approval.

Possible deliverables

Depending on the project: an agreed design summary, annotated concept views, key dimensions, gemstone schedule, development scope and a record of unresolved production questions.

Reference images communicate design intent. They do not establish accurate dimensions or confirm that the referenced construction can be manufactured using your intended process.
